Today we are going to highlight the importance of a clean sand filter versus a dirty sand filter.
A clean sand filter is the first line of defense against unwanted particles and microorganisms that can cloud your pool water or even cause health issues.
A dirty sand filter will not be able to catch all of the particles or microorganisms which will make the water cloudy or murky, increase pressure gauge readings, cause persistent algae blooms, slow water flow, and the need for constant backwashing.
It is recommended to clean your sand filter every 2-4 weeks to ensure it is properly functioning.
