The Stone Market

Putting Wine And People Together
The Stone Market is a dedicated wine shop in business since 2007 and seven time winner of the Gadsden Times Reader’s Choice Award.  Our owner is knowledgeable about wine, beginning her career in the busiest wine shop in the state, and can offer recommendations and advice based on your personal preferences. The site of frequent wine tastings, our store is a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere, a stark departure from the experience of typical grocery stores.

We also carry a selection of gourmet foods, some locally made, and can suggest the perfect pairing for your next party.  Our selection is curated to highlight the best wines available and paired with the knowledge to find the right one for you or your next party.  The Stone Market also features a variety of accessories like corkscrews, glasses, sand serving ware to make your event stand out.

Wine has impressive cultural and historical significance, as it has been enjoyed by people around the world for centuries and invites you to explore the wide range of flavors and aromas that different types of it has to offer. Equally enjoyed by yourself or in the company of friends and family, wine can also change it’s character by pairing it with food. Many people find that certain wines enhance the flavor of certain dishes, and enjoy the process of exploring different wine and food pairings.

With owner Syndee’s expert guidance, you will discover that certain wines can bring out the flavors of certain foods, making them more pronounced and enjoyable. For example, a fruity white wine may enhance the flavor of a fruit salad, while a bold red wine may complement the flavor of a grilled steak. Also of note, the flavors of the wine and food may contrast, creating an interesting and harmonious balance. A crisp, dry white wine may be a good match for a creamy, rich pasta dish. Cutting through richness: Some wines, such as sparkling wines, have a high acidity level that can help to cut through rich or heavy foods, making them more enjoyable to eat.

Our superpower is putting wine and people together.
